Here are some top individual performers from the recent games throughout the state:
*Baconton Charter junior outfielder/pitcher Spencer Culp was 5-for-9 with five runs scored in the Blazers’ four victories last week. On Thursday, Culp pitched a seven-inning three-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 3-1 victory over Early County that gave the Blazers, the Region 1-A champions, a nine-game winning streak entering the state playoffs.
*Chattahoochee pitcher Davis Rakose pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11 in a 2-0 victory over Alpharetta last week. Rakose, who is committed to Ole Miss, is 5-1 with a 0.81 ERA through the regular season.
*Fellowship Christian junior Isaac Bouton and senior Tony Tarabicos each were 5-for-9 last week in a three-game sweep over Darlington. Bouton had three doubles, five RBI and five runs scored. Tarabicos had a double, a home run, five RBI and four runs scored. The two also combined on a seven-inning no-hitter on Friday – with Bouton going five innings, Tarabicos two – in a 9-3 victory. The three runs were unearned.
*Grayson senior center fielder Parker Meadows was 4-for-8 with five runs scored, seven RBI, three walks, a home run and a double in a 3-0 week that sewed up the Region 8-AAAAAAA title for the Rams. Meadows is committed to Clemson.
*Locust Grove junior Nolan Crisp started two games last week, going three innings in each, and allowed just one hit while striking out 16 and walking none over the six innings. The Wildcats, the Region 4-AAAAA champions, beat Ola 13-3 and Eagle’s Landing 18-3. At the plate in those games, Crisp was 5-for-7 with three doubles, a triple, two runs and five RBI. Crisp is committed to Florida.
*Northside-Columbus freshman outfielder Mack Williams was 7-for-7 with two doubles, a triple and a home run in three Patriot victories last week. He hit a double, triple and home run in a 13-0 win over Carver-Columbus on Thursday but didn’t get a fourth turn at-bat with a chance for the cycle. The last time that Williams failed to get a hit was his final at-bat on April 12 when he reached on error in the eighth inning and scored the winning run in a 7-6 win over Columbus that ultimately gave the Patriots the Region 1-AAAA title.
*Parkview senior Logan Cerny was 5-for-8 with a double, a home run, three RBI and three runs scored last week. He pitched 1 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and a save in a 9-6 region-clinching victory over Brookwood. Cerny is committed to Troy.
*Ringgold outfielder/pitcher Holden Tucker was 5-for-12 last week as his team finished the regular season with a 20-game winning streak and an 18-0 record in Region 6-AAA. Tucker, a junior, also pitched a four-hitter in an 11-1 win over Sonoraville on Tuesday. Tucker struck out nine.
*St. Francis junior Brooks Mitchell was 10-for-19 last week with three triples, two doubles, four RBI and 10 runs scored as his team played five games in five days, winning four of them.
*Walton pitcher Luke Bartnicki pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 9-0 victory over Roswell on Friday. Bartnicki, a left-hander, is committed to Georgia.
